6AU6 has a bit less transconductance than the pentode in the 6BL8, 6BC5 is about the same, 6AH6 bit more. All share the same pinout. The triode has twice the transconductance of a 12AU7, same mu, so parallel the two tiodes or use a 6J5 or half a 6SN7 or 6CG7 or a 12A4.
