RE: equivalentes for 274A

A preamp isn't likely to need anywhere remotely close to the 225 mA rating of the 274A. An 80 (which is rated for 125 mA) should be a perfectly good substitute. The 5Z3 needs 3A for the heater vs. 2A for the 274A, so you'd need to be sure the transformer can take the extra current.
