...and fell in love with the sounds of British Mullard E188CCs (US eq. 7308). I ended up with five quads (long story), sold all other candidates, and then sold the amps! The tubes are clean, detailed, very spacious, and, important for me, slightly warmly balanced (but NEVER 'thick') tonally.. I'm happy to share my surplus with you at a fair price.. (No they were NOT microfonic and yes I always use Herbies tube dampers on Voltage-gain tubes.)
