Depending on the application, you might want to consider 7044 and 7119 tubes also. I used 5687, 7044, and 7119 types interchangeably in a ModWright modified CD player all with good results.EDIT: these are the amplification factors for the tubes mentioned.
5687: 17
7044: 21
7119: 24
