Some of the more modern c-j preamps have a reputation for being hard on tubes causing them to go noisy in 3 or 6 months. Sometimes sooner. I realize the Classic-2SE only uses one 6922, but before you get a replacement to roll in place of the stock 6922EH, you might want to check with someone like Jim McShane or Kevin Deal. I'm sure they've had experience in what works and doesn't.
