It was certainly at the top of the food chain in the 60's (sales of 300,000) and placed second for amplifiers on "Stereo Review" magazines list of recommended components for 1962. That said, it certainly represented one of the very best in its time...and as you find yourself listening to your ST-70, so do thousands of others 40+ years later...I think that says it all.
