I quote from a review by Hirsch-Houck Laboratories in the December 1959 issue of "High Fidelity" magazine regarding the ST-70."This amplifier's components are operated more conservatively than those in any other commercial amplifier we have tested which included two models by McIntosh...its power and distortion ratings are completely conservative and its listening quality is unsurpassed."
It was certainly at the top of the food chain in the 60's (sales of 300,000) and placed second for amplifiers on "Stereo Review" magazines list of recommended components for 1962. That said, it certainly represented one of the very best in its time...and as you find yourself listening to your ST-70, so do thousands of others 40+ years later...I think that says it all.
