I like the venerable ST70. It's got to be the most popular tube amp on the planet. It's also the most modified and probably still the most listened to amp and for it's original price of $79.95 (kit) and $129.95 (assemblied) just couldn't be beat. In a different relm however there was also the Marantz 8b and model 9. Needless to say the model 9 is a horse of a different color.
