Those questions are not that dumb, especially the "amp on or off" quandry that brings so much controversy.As for the input question, I do know the 102B has a selector switch easily visible on the front panel. The 101a is, however, a mystery to me as I dont remember how different it is from the 102B. What is the knob configuration?
As for the power on all night concern, as long as the amp is healthy, I would not give it too much worry. I would use it for a while first, to establish the condition. I leave all my equipment on most of the time, even the vintage EICO HF-81. I know many on here recoil in horror at the thought of the tube wear and fire potential, and every time I mention this, I usually get several responses to the tone of "youre insane." Well, my EICO HF-81 has been on for 6 month stretches at a time. I dont think leaving your little Jolida on overnight would be that big a gamble. Just make sure you have a nice smoke detector and a good insurance policy.... I have neither at the moment, then again, I like living in danger.
