For the money, I would not opt for Dynaco A-25. The PV-1/ HF-20 combo is capable of delivering more resolution than the A-25 is capable of rendering.
Say $350 for an HF-20pr that has new caps and resistors.
$350 for a Conrad Johnson PV-1, or PV-2ar (maybe a better choice).
Leaves $350 for speakers. For that amount of money, you can find ALOT of choices via Ebay. I haven't checked previous auctions, but I would think that something like B&W DM-602s, NHT 1.5 would be within the price range.
Also, for the price of the HF-20pr, you might be lucky enough to find a pair of Heath W-5 amps, which to me are much better.
