While I believe the Heresy’s are altogether a fine speaker in their own right, (I have owned pairs of Heresy’s, LaScallas, and Khorns) I personally am not particularly enamoured of their sound (somewhat hard and aggressive). They will, however, play very loud (maybe this is what you meant by “smoke ‘emâ€) as they are somewhat more efficient than the A-25’s. I have also owned 8 pair of A-25’s and have used them in many systems, with varying electronics and wonderful musical results. There were a few different tweeters used in the A-25’s, the best one being an extremely well built SEAS soft dome unit with a very large and heavy magnet structure (for a tweeter). Only one 10" woofer was used though (although there are two versions of the mounting flange) which was very capable of reproducing considerably deep bass. So capable as a matter of fact that Kinergetics used it in their subwoofer line (not bad for a "cheap-o").
