This might seem a silly suggestion, but have you considered Quad IIs or the new Quad valve power amps?A good pair of IIs are excellent partners - they should be, they were designed for the job - and the new Quad power amps will give you a bit of extra headroom.
I'm sure you've already done this, but just in case, make sure your 57s have properly working PSUs (they should run for a very long time if left unpowered) and that the membranes are in good shape.
