My answer to your question is: As I was told when I decided to get interested in vintage tube audio a few years back (ahem). "There are thousands of them out there, parts are easy and cheap, you can get the assembly instructions and put it togeather yourself (again), advice is plentiful and there are many upgrades/mods to do when your ready."
It really does sound good especially after a fresh rebuild. It's a good way to get aquainted with tubes. It will drive most decent speakers until you can decide which way you want to go in drivers, so there is no immediacy in doing drastic upgrades. Most of all it was fun to learn on.
