One more comparison

I have ONE set of grey plate original Tung-Sols in good condition. I strongly prefer the Gold Lions to these. The Tung-Sols were very solid in the bass, but much less extended than the GL's in the treble, and a trifle "hard" sounding in my amp.

I've also tried SED and original GE 6550's, and prefer the Gold Lions, altho I can't find my listening notes on the comparisons.

I've never heard Mikey's favorite black plate Tung-Sols, nor would I ever pay the prices they command to try them.
