You say that the anonymous posters are just as valid as registered ones. Sorry, but that is a cop-out. It's a far different matter to make an anonymous post saying 'the Raytheon 12AX7 is crap but the Telefunken is great" than to make a post saying 'RH is a crook and ripped me off!', isn't it? To do a hit and run on someone is a bit different than the usual tube posts.

And of course, your argument hits a brick wall by way of your circuitous logic - you say that a post is not without merit because of anonymity, and therefore, one cannot disregard the record. But that is completely faulty logic - if the record is largely composed of anonymous complaints, how can anyone possibly give it credibility? You can't suck and blow at the same time, if you want to smear, stand up and take credit for your comments,, or they do NOT form part of any verifiable - and therefore useful - record.

In the end, therefore, those anonymous 'pile on a guy' posts have no significance at all, and because of their cowardly joy in jumping on a negative bandwagon, actually they negate any possible complaint and make the subject, by default, look more like a victim than the offender.

As to how this "chris-crap" could have been avoioded in the first place, that is quite simple. If the first poster, Mike Currie, had the good sense NOT to use Tube Asylum as his personal feedback board, and instead had the guts to post feedback in the appropriate venue of the transaction, it would have been avoided. But Currie too wants to suck and blow, he doesn't want to post a negative on Audiogon either because he fears retaliation, or he doesn't have a legitimate complaint, but he still wants to find a convenient way to post feedback that can't be retaliated or verified, so he instead looks here for a convenient outlet to post a negative. That is not what this group is here for.
