It's quite clear that you didn't read my earlier posts very carefully, so let me give you the abridged version:1) Chris said that he would sell me 12 "phono grade" 6DJ8s for $95. He stated in his first email that they would be "tested and matched". I've made it clear on here previously that I had no expectations about brands of tube. Hell, I have excellent Amperexes and Mullards sitting here at home. 'Poorer' quality tubes were actually preferable under the circumstances, as I intended to use them to gain some understanding of the differences in sound quality. I DID expect pairs of tubes. Do you ordinarily use mixed brands and/or types of tubes in a STEREO amplifier? I don't. And once again, there was no matching or testing evident in any way.
2) I sent a personal check for $100. I received the tubes. I wrote to Chris questioning the types of tubes. He ignored 2 emails, while, I might add, he was posting here, so I know that he was available and online. It was only after my first post here that he replied. I have already provided the relevant quotes. Look back in this thread if you are really interested.
3) ONLY AFTER CHRIS DECLINED MY REQUEST FOR A REFUND IN A VERY RUDE MANNER DID I START THIS THREAD. Do you understand the sequence of events?
4) It is clear from the number of messages that I have received over the past 2 days that quite a number of other folks, including several regular posters here, are unhappy with past transactions. His eBay record is also appalling. Under ordinary circumstances, I would say that you are defending the indefensible. HOWEVER.........
5) I have just received an email from Chris Spafford. I will not share it on here, mainly because I have no idea what to make of it. Suffice it to say that there is some evidence that Chris claims to be not entirely responsible for his actions and his behavior. I am sorry to be so obscure, but I suggest that you contact him for details if you wish. I'll leave it to him to share if he wishes.
I will also suggest that you read prior postings thoroughly before making accusations, several of which are completely unsubstantiated by the facts available to you.
This is my last post on this issue.
Mike
