Probably not- since it is most likely being used as a reference for a voltage regulator, the output of the regulator would try to follow this 50% (!) change in voltage, and most likely would not have the head room to do so. And if it did, the resulting increase in voltage would change every parameter in the downstream curcuits.

Also, you NEVER replace a part with one of a lower power rating!

You really need to find the right part for the job! Most of ARCs designs were pretty tight- especially the servo based power supplies used in the SP6 and other preamps.

If you can not find one locally, call ARC- I'm sure they would ship one wherever it needs to go.
