The US made 845 is ridiculously expensive BECAUSE THEY ARE SO RARE !, talking about US850 for an used pair of UNITED, or US650 for a used pair of RCA. Cetron's new one may be more easily found. Most of the US or UK made 845 are now in Japan market. Japanese treat them as collection item.I have a pair of United(1958) when inserting into my Unison Research simply 845, the high freq. is significantly improved, more ambieance and more extended. Mid bass is slightly more punchy in better bass profile outlined.
The China made one is OK since many modern manufaturers are still using them (like Nagra, Unison Research, Audion etc..).
