Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I am a newbie.
I have 3 testers and they all test different on the same tube. The AVO 163 for an EL 34 reads 98ma anode current and gm of 11.0
The Avo mk4 is 75 ma and gm of 13.5 the Avo 160 65ma and gm of 9.5.The meters appear to be reading accurately as an ampmeter in circuit gives the same reading(x2).
Can I buy a tube that has been calibrated, test it and adjust my tester
to comply with the known spec.
Are testers that unreliable and should they all be recalibrated?
Buying on e-bay is scary.
