Re: Anyone On 'Tubes Asylum' Own Any "Vintage" Tabletop or Console Tube Radios???

I have a late 1940's HMV table radio. It has Long, Medium and two Short-Wave bands. Output valve is a KT61. Amongst the rest is the entirely unobtainable X78. It still works although I do not use it much. Its best feature is the arrangement of the tuning dials.

Each waveband is displayed on a glass strip (edge-lit) so there are four of these fixed in louvre fashion, with the elliptical loudspeaker mounted behind.

Rather a nice piece of lateral thinking I always thought.

Paul
