Re: Anyone On 'Tubes Asylum' Own Any "Vintage" Tabletop or Console Tube Radios???

Ahha.
I have a 1957 TV. Something like 6". Tube is 3/4 dead (blanker failed and there's a big dead spot in the middle). What's worse - all channels in my area are on different frequencies and the factory presets are useless. But it can play FM radio.
Also, I have a tube radio/LP player (made in the 50s too), also only radio part is working - this one was living last 40 years in an unheated barn, so all mechanics are pure Fe2O3 now. When I was about 5 y.o., and that was early 70s, power transformer said 'Illegal Interrupt ...' and I remember grandfather swearing all the saints as he was replacing it.
