Re: Experiments with "UltrPath" connection

Dear Andrew,
You are exactly correct. My reference line amplifier also using Ultrapath circuitry. This circuitry brings me a completely new experience to both basic preamplifier design and sonic experience!! Again, thanks to Mr. Jack Elliano from Electra-Print Audio Company. He provide a great deal of information back to several years ago in a very friendly and helpful manner, when I first start this project. I have improved this circuitry by combining the Ultrapath and Shunt Feed, the result is given more effortless sound and increase in low level resolution; also the bandwidth.

Ultrapath is a very unique type of sound. It recreates the music very close to passive preamplifier with dynamics and energy, especially with 6H30 type tube. However, this preamplifier needs a very exotic power supply filtering and regulation to avoid the modulation (under 50Hz sonic performance). I am really curious to see what Mr. Elliano can improve his output transformer for this preamplifier design by using some Amorphous and Permalloy core material. Thanks again to Mr. Elliano brought this old Western Electric circuit back to life and refine it at the same time. You did a great job!!!!

Cheers,
PPtriode
