What's wrong with that? He didn't conceal anything. He gave the readings, which were self-explanatory. So they're tired. Big deal.
The tubes probably have some hours left in them. Depending on the maker, it can be more or less. I've got a number of marginal testing tubes that still sound great with hundreds of hours left in them. If the price is right, these might be worth a buy to someone wanting a cheap "sample" before plunking down larger dollars for better stock.
Life must be really good for you, if this sort of stuff irritates.
