I think you would like the RFT "Seimens" dimple top EL34. They had a very "airy" nature to them in my Curcio ST70. Had a smooth top without any harshness to it. I didnt like Winged C or EH, the top end was too harsh (similar to what you are experiencing). I liked these RFT, and someone else mentioned the Groove Tubes EL34M. I have a quad of the Groove Tubes EL34M and like them a lot. They have the best top end of any of the EL34 I have listened too. There are bright and detailed, but very musical and pleasant.
The suggestion for the coupling capacitor upgrade is right on, as well. Try some paper-in-oil. What kind of driver tubes does your amp use? Definitely do some rolling with those as well. Good luck! (Sorry this thread turned into what it has.)
