The bigger ones have 20 or more of these and usually different brands in the same scope. Find one that works or at least powers up. I had one with Telefunken E88CC's, Orange Globe A-Frames, and bugle boys inside...You can sometimes find them on Ebay locally and save yourself shipping $$$ (things weigh 60-80 lbs.) Look at your sellers feedback for any signs of tube trading in the past and if so, move on, the good stuff is gone. They don't always test perfectly, but I have a VERY, VERY large collection of VERY VIABLE DJ8 types, mostly scope pulls. This is a HUGE trade secret here, use it and you owe me one...but please no more 6DJ8's ;)
Search the BAMA site type in your prospective model number and you can look at the actual tube complement in the particular scope before bidding. So for about a $100 or less (with some luck), you can conceivably acquire a few flavors to try out. Just my 2 cents...PS...Tektronix Scopes almost invariably contain European 6DJ8's.
