Noise may not be THAT big of an issue -- the Duo is NOT horn loaded in the bass -- most SET amps have noise problems at 120 cycles. You will still be using inefficient direct radiators down there.
I use 35 watt SET mono amps with 108 db sensitive horns. The little 2a3, 45, 300B amps can sound good but have yet to hear any that have the pure dynamic presence and tone of a 6C33C triode. If you aren't into tweeking power supplies and tube amp circuits I highly recommend trying whatever you are interested in with the speakers. With that kind of sensitivity the horns will show all the flaws and noise most SET amps have. Sure most of the time you'll be in the first watt and folks boast about the flea amps being great -- but I find the 6C33C is the first watt king IME and also has lots and lots of headroom.also recommend a transformer volume control or a passive preamp. The advantage there is very low coloration and no added noise.
