Three days ago I received a pair of RCA black base 6SN7s and Raytheon 5751s.The 6SN7s seem to make a difference in that the presentation is somewhat more relaxed, smoother more liquid, though the difference is not vey large. The 5751s do not seem to alter the sound. Of course the tubes have not had much time to burn in, and differences may show up with longer term listening.I am wondering if certain amps (or preamps) respond more to tube changes than others.
BTW what did you replace the MV55 with?
