If you are refering to the 45 amp built in a CJ MV-45, you are talking about a complete scrapping of the original circuit. I must admit that I don't have any particular fondness for the MV-45, since I had nothing but trouble with the power supply blowing up on a number of occasions on a unit I had 10 years ago. However CJ stood behind my unit and gave me the original purchase cost in trade towards an MV-50 (since upgraded to MV-52 and subsequently triode converted).Frankly, I would not do anything more drastic on an MV-55 than triode conversion (if it needs it) and tube rolling. Any more would destroy its value, and it is still a currently available and well regarded amplifier that has a good resell value.
