Thats true, it can hurt resale value and thats why any upgrades I do to my tube amps outside of dynacos and a few heaths,I always do the upgrades that can be reversed if I decide to sell them.I dont use blackgates because I like the motor run in oil caps and they are cheap to buy on the surplus market and I was able to mount a pair of 100ufs and a pair 50s in each mac mc60 with no problem.I use the stickum mounts and use tie wraps thru them to hold the caps in place and Im able to leave the original filter caps in for looks,
Macs are picky about what upgrades work in them and I have found the fast switching soft recovery bias diode to make a huge improvement and the filter caps whether they be BGs or motor run in oil caps.
