Nice cross-coupled feedback scheme

Almost reminds me of a Citation II without the insane complexity - but then again, GPimm's local-feedback system reminds me a bit of the driver stage of the Citation as well.

In the early Nineties, when I met the guru of the New York Triode Mafia (Arthur Loesch) at the CES, we chatted about how driver design and how much better it had to be in order to actually hear what DHT's sounded like, instead of the defects of the driver stage. Interestingly, Arthur felt that an inadequate driver stage essentially magnified the bad aspects of a given DHT, so 211's sounded thin and shrill, 300B's sounded fat and sloppy, etc. etc. I've never forgotten that comment - and have indeed noticed in commercial amps, where driver design is almost invariably slighted, the colorations of the final tube are frequently very exaggerated, so much so that critics get strange ideas about the "sound" fo XYZ DHT power tube. Then again, magazine critics don't need much help with strange ideas.
