"How do I disconnect the feedback loop?"

The circuit board should have something that says LFB or RFB for left and right channel feedback.

The feedback wires should connect to one of the secondary taps of the output transformer.

Take photos of anything you plan to unsolder or change, so you can put it back to the original circuit if it does not sound correct.
