"Those transformers are really tiny, and from what I see, AES doesn't even publish response data. I might wonder whether they're operating too close to saturation at all power levels with the level of DC required by a 6V6. That could certainly account for excessive levels of distortion."

The Lacewood 2.0 SE 6V6 amp used Edcor GSXE10-8-5K units. Those are certainly better quality than the AES PT-31's.

It is interesting that the "Green God" outperformed the "Lacewood 2.0" in terms of THD% at 1W by a factor of almost 2:1 with lesser quality OPT's.

Ultimately, measurements are not the final arbiter of subjective enjoyment of SE tube amplifiers for some listeners.
