RE: why would someone sell an SS product online?

"The guy selling online is not the guy that felt ripped off. He may still have the amps. You may even know him. Like I said, he liked the amps. May have felt mislead by the improvements he was sold. Anyway, point being, DF and his devotees are much like Bobby Palcovic and Merlin devotees and "Rosie Pup" and John Hogan amp devotees. Almost cultish. In the case of Bobby, mystery improvements tied up in pseudoscience is much like DF. Bobby did make a good product. But really, he managed to take a $3,500 speaker and improve it to $13,500 over a 8-10 year period."

Buyer beware in all aspects of commerce.

The "elite audiophiles" who can spend mega $$$ for SS or similar products are "cost is no object" alpha male-types who demand something out of the ordinary.

There is no cult, only intelligent marketing by DF and the others to sell a product to those types of audiophiles.

As for your friend, he is paying for 32 years of R & D by DF on his amplifiers and lucky to be able to afford to buy them.
