RE: Thoughts on Input resistor ... bias problems?

"I believe you are saying that the grid leakage current disturbs the bias of the tube (as set by a cathode resistor (as one example)) even when the grid resistor value is well below the "max" value given in the data sheet so lower is better with a grid choke being best."

Not seen any cases of driver stage bias problems in SE tube circuits because of a grid resistor.

The values presented in the RCA tube manual for grid resistors are typically OK for mid-fi circuits and applications.

To go beyond that takes special knowledge.
