Just my OPINION, but a capacitor changes to its 'mature' state in maybe as little as a few hours and certainly no more than 100. Than has a HUGE LONG flat area of minimal change / maturity followed by a fairly rapid decline to failure.
You can keep a capacitor 'good' for longer by not cooking it or exceeding its usage parameters.

Prolbme with huge amounts of PS capacitance, are, as you are well aware, a potential for a HUGE input surge as they charge.

My 6800uf / 50V Ulna caps in my 40+ year old Kenwood are apparently still fine......

Not entirely relevant, but my SPEAKERS make some funny noises for the first couple hours...including some abrupt image shifts and such. I ascribed it to the dielectric forming and all has been FINE fo quite a number of years.
