RE: what to avoid ...

Some of the things DT667 has recommended to others :

A) learn to use a PC FFT for basic tube circuit validation.

B) check your tube circuits with a scope.

Do these two things in addition to "ear testing" will help a novice builder avoid simple errors in design and construction.

Of course, there is a group of people on this forum who will react to any content posted by certain individuals in a negative manner based on irrational emotions and flawed logic.

DT677 suggests not falling prey to the above mentioned mental conditions because it is simply undignified.
