Intelligent comments by DF here. This sort of thinking is what separates RMAF legends from average stock DIY tube amp builders.

This reminds DT667 of the sort of distortion that can be generated from cheap potentiometers because the wiper contacts are poor. Easy to detect with PC FFT distortion analyzers.

Think of anything else in a tube amp where circuit contacts are not soldered and there could be potential problems.
