Didn't mean to cause a shit storm guys. So I added 12uf cap to the 2nd stage of the power supply in the power amp and this reduced hum to a point that I can't hear any at the listening seat. The static noise now is coming from the pre amp. I use unshielded cables so was not sure about them . So today I bypassed all the internal circuitry of the pre and just used the volume pot. So now the cd player goes to the volume pot then to the amp. Noise gone. Have only listened for a couple hours but may have picked up some small details and soundstage got bigger. So far so good. Need to live with it for awhile. Thanks for every ones input.
