There is one of your shortfalls, sir

JDM designs his amplifiers to be used on "high efficiency" horn speaker systems like the Altec VOTT's he is using.

Also, the JDM finals biasing will not be the typical 60ma. like a standard SE 2A3 amp.

You need speakers that can play loud with 1W or less.

Get some appropriate transducers and remove the preamp - you will not need it.
