And I will add to Dave's informative post that if you are running SS diodes for rectification and do not use some sort of soft start or massive bleeder resistors, with Lcrit input you WILL have high voltage at start-up, because insufficient current is drawn to achieve the Lcrit requirement.
I like to model the PS and calculate what is needed, then order custom from a supplier I trust: takes out the guesswork and hackwork.
