RE: operation point 330b xls

Jac's page (linked) provides a range of "recommended" operating points, including the H2 distortion associated with those points.

My opinion:

  • " Example single ended operating points" would be more apt than "Recommended...".
  • People considering using the points (designing an amplifier) should know how to interpret them.
  • People have different design objectives and a range of operating points and H2 distortion values can be helpful (Paul and Tre make this point well).
  • If the distortion values are in the ballpark of reality, I don't have a problem with the points provided.
  • For my design objectives, the high H2 distortion points are not a good choice.
  • I would like operating points for more EML tubes to be published.
