Interesting.So the 5k transformer, when loading a low Rp tube, does not really need more inductance than a 3k load.
Even though I have not gone though the calcs for a very long time, I associate the need for increases in inductance and load with an increase in tube Rp. I suspect that we can become conditioned to assume that as load increases so needs to increase inductance, which may not hold up when the Rp remains constant.Something to keep in mind if I am loading a tube high.
That said, most 5k outputs will be wound with higher Rp tubes in mind, hence they will have higher inductance and the challenges/compromises that involves.
