To purchase the chokes I have, I let Jack at Electraprint do the sizing. I trust that he knows the choke sizes needed, although sometimes when I call him, he does not seem to want to sell me anything. He says that caps are as good as chokes depending on the values used. I put in my two cents summarizing what I believe the benefits are of using chokes, but he does not seem to believe me.I will try to pick up the torroidal transformers you were talking about to adjust the secondary voltage of the filament transformer, but I still need to figure out the initial voltage. Who makes those? Can I get those at Rat Shack? Is it OK to be near the rated output of the filament tranformer, or should I provide some headroom?
The high frequency current that you are speaking about, is that coming off of the positive leg of the tube filaments and why do you want to use the choke to increase the impedance to ground?
I also recall a thread sometime back where you said that it is OK to provide the filament current to two separate tubes each of which amplify a separate channel. Is that right? There is no concern of crosstalk between channels?
