Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

Very interesting C-B

Makes sense the way you put it. I might try that on my other, RC-coupled, amp or next build.

Is there a point at which this type of arrangement becomes infeasible? If I was driving a Type 50 (50mA and a circa 47uF cathode bypass) with an EML 20B (40mA and a rule of thumb 200uF cathode bypass), I assume the output stage would not be able to regulate the voltage across the lower resistor. Is there a point or ratio of input to output stage current that is a break point?

Cheers,
91.
