No DC-links. Clarity TC with Kelvin connections for local PS decoupling; Auricap XO for 6C6 Cathode bypass; Russian alu foil PIO for 6C6 screen bypass; and ClarityCap CMR for 2A3 Cathode bypass. Maybe a bit too much plastic and alu, but hey, there are not many semi-affordable alternatives for those values and the bypasses (apparently) don't sound typically metalised poly.I've tried to connect components lead-to-lead, where practical... This stuff is at the margins and I've no idea of its contribution to the sound quality - please don't take anything I post here as a suggestion. :)
- Amplification stage current loops (I use a multiple star): solid core OCC Cu with foamed PTFE, with B+ and cathode circuits having 2-3x heavier awg than the "signal".
- "Signal": all solid core OCC in foamed PTFE, signal 24awg (shielded), coupling 21awg, output 18awg.
- PSU: multistrand 16awg OCC in PVC.
- AC (transformer primary side): bit of a hodgepodge of 18 or 16awg multistrand or 18awg tinned Cu Alphawire in PVC (1000V).
- Filaments: tinned Cu Alphawire in PVC (300V), which allows a tight, even twist. 24awg for 6C6 and 18awg for 2A3.
I prefer working with the solid core - the Alphawire is super nice and I'll be using it in more in some locations. Stranded is a bit of a PITA.
Hope that helps.
