Bread boarding is fine for experimentation and learning. It has its place and I'll be using it in the future - no confusion here.Yes, if we are being literal, of course avoidable problems are avoidable. My point is that some of yours could have been easily avoided with readily available knowledge or care and resolved much earlier if you'd provided accurate descriptions of the circuit, problem etc. You have improved in this area - well done!
We can disagree on "highly-compromised". Maybe it depends on perspective and the types of builds one has experienced. A quality versus quantity situation. Also, there are different ways of approaching this. Some will keep the components relatively constant to compare different designs. Others will keep the design constant to compare differences in components, build methods etc. Or a hybrid of both... or throw everything at a build to see what happens... or... In my limited experience, differences between SET amps need not be subtle.
Enjoy. I'll let this topic swing back to T-K's build. Apologies again for playing a part in pulling it off-track.
