My 750V solution was an Octal tube socket and Octal plug

Search for Amphenol 9 Pin Male Octal Plug 86-CP-9 & Hood. Here's my solution (13 years in service) - very safe I think!

I mounted Ceramic octal sockets in the back of the PSU, and on the top plate of the amplifier. Since the left and right channel was at 750V, I ran them on neighboring pins 1 and 8 - as there was no chance of arc-over between them (same potential).

In the amplifier chassis, I shorted pins 4 & 5. In the PSU supply chassis, I run 6.3V in pin 4 and back out of pin 5 and finally to a relay! The relay will inhibit B+ unless closed. So, that way - there is no possibility of B+ flowing down the umbillical unless it is connected at both ends.

I use a stainless steel braid salvaged from a washing machine hose (Home Depot) to run the B+ umbilical wires inside of... The stainless braid is connected to pin 3 of the socket - which is earth grounded!
