Better? It's hard to say with the info given. Depends on the plate load CCSs used and their voltage needs and the required room for signal voltage swing. That said, 10V extra most likely will not task the CCSs nor their heat sinks. But better?

I'm curious though. You said you are suing a shunt regulated supply with gas regulator shunt tubes. These tubes "set" the voltage. You seem to imply that you can adjust the regulated output. How's that?
