I have a EL84 Line stage prototype on my bench. Two sections strapped, CCS on the first section plates with a choke load on the cathode. The second section is a CF. The intent is to drive my 50 Mono blocks.
I would give it good sonic marks...the problem is I've re-purposed the CCS from another project and they are noisy (sizzly) This seems to be common when you dick with MOSFETs. I've no problems when I install and then don't mess with them.
Next step will be to sub the first section with EF86,the CCS plate load will yield a big MU, which i don't really need.
