RE: Phono Pre Isolation

Steel is nice. Brass is nice, in moderation. POM can be nice too - not dead or distant sounding like some plastics; doesn't lend a "microphonic" sound either.

I like to use a combination, with tubes and passives on a POM sub-chassis. Not just for vibrational reasons; some reasons may be similar to yours for mounting your RCAs on plastic.
