RE: Insulated Phono Jacks

That's what I do. Laser cutting allows accurate keying of mounts - no loose connectors or need to over tighten. I've had success with POM/ Delrin; PTFE/Teflon is too soft. There are other plastics that would work. POM apparently also has some meritorious vibrational characteristics - I had success as signal/tube sub chassis mounts, but not so sure about relevance to connectors.

Nice thing about sub-mounts is they can be changed when needed without hacking a nicely finished chassis. Change your connector configuration... just change the mount.
